There is a wide variety of After School Sports Clubs available throughout the school year each week. All clubs run from 3.15 to 4pm. In all our clubs we like to promote “Chawrae Teg” – Fair play and good sportsmanship. All attendance to school sports clubs results in credits for the First College and Children’s University Scheme (through Trinity College, Carmarthen).

Pembroke Dock Community School were nominated for Pembrokeshire Sports Club of the Year, 2007-2008, and were presented the runner up trophy at Folly Farm in November, 2007.

We are the first school in Pembrokeshire and one of the first in Wales to receive this award for high quality Physical Education and sport delivered during lessons and after school clubs for all pupils.

This is a benchmark award endorsed by the Sports Council for Wales and the Association for Physical Education Wales.

We have a full programme of sport activities: Late Foundation Phase pupils are able to participate in Dragon Sports activities, which take place, from 3.30pm-4.00pm, on a Wednesday evening.  There are approximately 25 places for pupils.  Each half term, a different sport is covered by 2 members of staff.

Key Stage 2 Pupils have a full timetable of sport, which is laid out below.

About Dragon Sport

The school has offered Dragon Sports Clubs at PDCS since the initial pilot for the scheme in Pembrokeshire, 8 years ago. There are a variety of activities offered through the Dragon Sports Club. Its main aim is to promote life long healthy activity and fun for sport so that pupils are sufficiently interested to attend clubs outside the school environment and extend their interests. Excellent attendance is awarded by termly certificates.
